Bentworth boys aiming for return trip to WPIAL playoffs

After ending a five-year playoff drought a season ago, the Bentworth boys basketball team will look to continue that upward trend with a balanced scoring attack after the loss of their top scorer.
The Bearcats went 12-11 overall and finished with a 5-7 mark in Section 4-2A for a fourth-place tie with Carmichaels. Bentworth’s season came to an end with a preliminary round loss to Laurel.
“I was really happy with our play last season,” said Bentworth coach Bob Kennedy, who is entering his 21st season with the Bearcats on the bench. “We only had two seniors last year, so a lot of sophomores and freshmen got playing time. At times last year we had three freshmen on the floor.
