Phillip M. Seighman, 84, of Monongahela, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Nov. 28, 2023. Phil was born at home in Monongahela on Aug. 17, 1939, the son of the late Herbert B. Sr. and Martha Belle Cowan Seighman. He spent 36 years in the Air National Guard retiring as a master sergeant. A member of the Nottingham Christian Center, Phil’s true love was farming as he owned the family farm. For over 20 years, he was the caretaker of Mt. Zion Cemetery in Ginger Hill, giving it up in 2021. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau and the Ginger Hill 4-H. Surviving are his wife, Karen Nagel Seighman, whom he married Jan. 13, 1979; three daughters, Lorrie L. Seighman of Monongahela, Elana (Tedd) Reichenbach of Ohio, and Anna Marie (Robert) Rankin of Monongahela; a brother and sister-in-law, George F. and Diana Seighman of King George, Va.; a sister, Judy Raymond of Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Noah Z. and Camden Seighman and Noah B. and Gladys Rankin; a brother-in-law, Paul Carr; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Phillip “Lon” Seighman, who died Jan. 7, 2019; two brothers, Herbert B. (Shirley) Seighman Jr. and Clyde (Norma) Seighman, six sisters, Jane (Tom) Whittaker, Sarah Elizabeth “Liz” (George) Bright, Shirley (Herbert) Hemmings, Dorothy (Calvin) Matthews, Thressa Carr, Patricia “Tish” (Emil) Palensar; and a brother-in-law, Bernie Raymond.  Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, at the Ginger Hill Grange, 3389 PA-136, Finleyville, PA 15332, with Pastor Brent Furlong officiating. At the family’s request, burial will be private and held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville with full military honors conducted by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
