Richard Peter Semanisin, age 80, of North Versailles, died on Monday, Nov. 27, 2023. He was born in McKeesport on May 28, 1943, and is the son of the late Peter and Sarah Perich Semanisin. Richard was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam, and was part owner of the former J+R Cleeland Printing in South Side. Richard received his master’s degree in education from the University of Kentucky. He enjoyed watching football, basketball, swimming and loved his rescued cats. Richard is survived by his wife, Monica Mendicino Semanisin; stepdaughter, Gwendolyn Brown (Bill Duck) of Wilkins Township, step-grandson, Joseph Brown of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and many cousins, loving cats and bunnies. Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023, at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES INC., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) from 3 to 6:30 p.m., when services will be held in the funeral home chapel. A burial will take place. Should friends desire, memorial contributions in Richard’s name may be made to the White Oak Animal Safe Haven, 2295 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131.
