Dian Konick Sefchok, 67, of Latrobe, passed away at Latrobe Hospital on Nov. 21, 2023. She was the loving wife of Gary S. Sefchok, sharing 47 years of marriage together. Born in Monessen, on June 11, 1956, she was the daughter of the late George Konick and Helen Backo-Konick. Dian spent her youth in Belle Vernon and graduated from Belle Vernon Area High School in 1974. Dian was a true artist. She took pride in creating beautiful flower arrangements, paintings and calligraphy, but most of all she thoroughly enjoyed designing and creating Pysanki Easter eggs. She was truly honored to pass down the tradition to her grandchildren. She had a “green thumb” and was an amazing gardener. All those close to her knew her passion for country music, especially George Strait. Dian was a wonderful wife and a caring mother and grandmother who raised four loving sons and six beautiful grandchildren. She was an incredible lady who was kind hearted, funny and selfless. Dian always had a way of making everyone feel welcome and made friends with everyone she was around. She was the “heart and soul” of family gatherings. Surviving in addition to her husband, Gary, are her children, son, Steven and wife Viktoriya of Myrtle Beach; son, Gary Michael and his wife Jayme of Greensburg; son, Justin and his wife Olivia of Chester Springs; and son, Matthew of Washington, Pa. She was known as “Grams” to her three granddaughters and three grandsons, Isabella, Samantha, Syler, Carter, Vincent and Adelyn. She was the sister of Marie Dudzinski and her husband John Dudzinski; and brother, Jeffrey Konick; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law of Athena Sefchok, Timothy Sefchok, Frankie and wife Cheryl Sefchok. Dian was a loving aunt to many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Jeffrey Sefchok; and her nephew, Jereme Dudzinski. A celebration of life will be held in January and announced at a later date. Her final resting place will be Belle Vernon Cemetery. Dian’s funeral arrangements are entrusted to PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society with “In memory of Dian Sefchok” or consider planting a tree in her memory.
