Camilla Pokol, 95, of Donora, passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Donora on Oct. 25, 1928, daughter of the late Casmier Jozwiak and the late Helen Nowicki Jozwiak. Camilla was a beloved mother, bubby, great-bubby and friend. Camilla worked in food service for the Ringgold School District, holding many different positions in the various district cafeterias. She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, the Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary, the Christian Mothers, the CDofA, the Democratic Women’s Club and was a Democratic committeewoman for the fifth precinct. Camilla loved to travel all over the world with her loving husband, Frank, playing cards with several card clubs, playing bocce, playing bingo with her friends at the senior center and her trips to the Rivers, Meadows, Lady Luck and Rocky Gap casinos. In addition to her parents, Camilla was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Pokol, on Dec. 17, 2013; a sister and brother-in-law, Florence (Clinton) Hammond; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward (Charlotte) Jozwiak and Ray (Dorothy) Jozwiak. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Carin (Jeff) Alvarez of Donora; two sons, Frank Pokol Jr. of Carroll Township and Richard Pokol of Donora; grandchildren, Frank (Rana) Pokol III, Jeffrey (Natalie) Alvarez Jr., Caz (Stephanie) Alvarez, Ashley (Brian) Csanady, Stephanie (Mitchell) Naden, Richard (Destiny Harrison) Pokol Jr. and Cara (Vincent) Romano and Mark Law; great-grandchildren, Drake, Denver, Parker and Summer Pokol, Zachery, Samuel, Nathaniel, Lillian and Allison Alvarez, Piper and Paisley Csanady, Lincoln Naden and Baby Romano expected soon. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Donora Campus. Interment will follow at Monongahela Cemetery. The Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary will recite a Rosary in the funeral home at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. The family suggests memorial contributions in Camilla’s name may be made to the Dignity Robe Program at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish.
