New McKeesport Area police chief hopes to inspire students

When Brenda Sawyer saw a posting for the McKeesport Area School District police chief position, she viewed it as an opportunity to end her law enforcement career in the same city it began. The school board hired Sawyer as the district’s police chief at its Oct. 25 meeting. The former City of McKeesport officer will begin her new role in February after she retires from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office.
