Big Dave’s is a hit with Valley pizza lovers

Within a week of its grand opening, Big Dave’s Pizza in Monessen ran out of food. The unexpected amount of support for the new pizza shop conjured feelings of excitement and nervousness for the owner. “I was very overwhelmed that I sold out like I did,” said Dave Childs, owner of Big Dave’s. Big Dave’s Pizza opened Nov. 4 at 313 East Schoonmaker Ave. in its 12- by 25-foot kitchen to staggering support from the public.
