Walter E. Klett Sr., of Rostraver Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023, at the age of 90. Walter was the father of Michael Klett (and wife, Barbara) of Holden, Mass., Ralph Klett (predeceased and surviving wife, Lori) of Bentleyville and Walter Klett Jr. of Lancaster. He was grandfather to seven grandchildren, Suzanne, Daniel, Samuel, Rachel, Jordan, Jocelyn and Jessica; and one great-granddaughter, Layla. He was the companion of 27 years to Irene Patsen of Rostraver Township; and adopted stepfather to Debra and Ronald Fowler, Mary and James Cancelmi and Charlene and James Baxter. He was adopted grandfather to seven grandchildren, Samantha, Matthew, James, Jeffrey, Jesse, Clinton and Brandon; and great-grandfather to two, Sonny and Anna. Walter was born in Freiburg, Germany. He apprenticed as a baker in the war-torn nation before emigrating to the United States in 1955 with only $40 in his pocket. Upon arriving, he worked in various bakeries in Pittsburgh honing his craft. In 1969, he took ownership of Frank’s Bakery at Eighth Street and McKean Avenue in Charleroi and operated the business until 1990. Walter was an avid fisherman, soccer fan and loved boating on the Monongahela River with his family and friends. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, 2023, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com.
