Donald E. Ulens, 84, of Charleroi, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 17, 2023. Donald was born on Jan. 26, 1939, in Charleroi to the late Peter and Catherine McCabe Ulens. Catholic by faith, Donald was a member of the Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish — Charleroi site, where he was a Eucharistic Minister of the church. Donald was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Charleroi, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Charleroi Elks and the Tenth Street Athletic Club in Charleroi. Donald retired from Corning Glass Charleroi Federal Credit Union after many years as a manager and treasurer. Donald loved watching his Pittsburgh sports teams and spending time with his friends and family who will miss him dearly. Surviving to cherish Donald’s memory are his wife, Barbara (Flowers) Ulens; his sons, Jeff Ulens and Kevin (Cathy) Ulens; his grandsons, Tyler and Adam (Caitlin) Ulens; and his numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his late wife, Elaine Kinsey Ulens; his daughter, Brenda Jennion and his son-in-law, Brian Jennion; his brother, William Ulens; and sister, Edith Yagnich. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023, at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, at Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish — Charleroi site, 624 Washington Ave. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township.
