Mary Lou Moskal, 81, of Belle Vernon, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023. Born in Belle Vernon on Nov. 27, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Mike and Mary Pedulla Moskal Sr. Mary Lou worked for 36 years at Howard Johnson’s Restaurant in Rostraver Township from its opening day in December 1963 until its closing in 1999. She is survived by her brother, Mike Moskal Jr. of Belle Vernon; nephews, John Trosiek of Baltimore, Md., and Christopher Trosiek of Alexandria, Va.; and many friends and neighbors including Marianne DeGrange, Greta Novak, Mary Lee Margovic and Shirley Lynch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Carl “Sam” Moskal; and sister, Frances Mae Trosiek. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com. Family and friends are asked to meet for a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at Harmony Presbyterian Church, 587 Harmony Church Road, Belle Vernon, with Pastor Glenn Hart officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Mary Lou’s memory to https://www.steelribbonsfund.org, which is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit supporting the financial needs of families facing ovarian cancer at Magee Women’s Hospital.
