Barry L. Smith – Charleroi

Barry L. Smith, 73, of Charleroi, passed away peacefully on Nov. 15, 2023, at Walden’s View of North Huntingdon. Barry was born on Feb. 25, 1950, in Fairmont, W.Va., to the late Harry Jr. and Olga Messoria Smith. Barry was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Coal Center. Following high school, Barry served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 22 in Charleroi and will be missed by his family, whom he loved dearly. Surviving to cherish Barry’s memory are his brother, Jerry J. (Diane) Smith, his sister, Patty (Pat) Panepinto; his niece, Nicole (Rich) Puyer and their children Hatie, Mae and Pipper Puyer; his nephews, Dale Smith, Brian (Amy) Smith and their children Colton, Kash and Kelsey Smith, and Logan Pfrogner; his nieces, Lorri Pfrogner and Taylor (Cole) Johnson and their son Jack Johnson. In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by his son, Barry J. Smith Jr. Friends and family will be received at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022 from 2 to 4 p.m., when the funeral service will begin on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, with the Rev. Kenneth Custer officiating. Interment will be held privately at Mon Valley Memorial Park. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.hogan-melenyzer.com.
