Timothy Shawn Frieze, 63, of Rostraver Township, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, at his home following a long illness. Born in New Castle, Del., on Dec. 2, 1959, he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Margaret Evelyn Jenkins Frieze. Tim, also known as “Iceman” or “Frieze Pop,” grew up in Leedom Estates in New Castle, Del. He attended William Penn High School and during his life held various jobs with one being a host on a radio podcast “All Things Kiss.” He was a longtime member of Minquadale Fire Company and Teamsters Local No. 326. Tim was known for his avid passion for the legendary rock band Kiss as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is survived by his two children, Timothy Shawn (Diane) Frieze II and Rachel Ellen (Pedro) Alicea; four grandchildren, Bradley, Andres, Sophia and Giselle; his former wife and mother of his children, Ellen J. Scheib; the love of his life for many years fiancée, Virginia Richnafsky-McCusker; two cats, Sylvester and Shadow; two sisters, E. Marie (William) Donovan and Lee (Larry) Shoop; brother, Terence (Donna) Frieze; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Michael J (Joanne) Frieze. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, at Minquadale Fire Hall, 129 E. Hazeldell Ave., New Castle, DE 19720. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to JAMES C.
