David A. Bertovich – Charleroi
David A. Bertovich, 80, of Charleroi, passed away Wednesday evening, Nov. 8, 2023, in his home. He was born on Nov. 25, 1942, in Bentleyville, son of the late Frank and Helen Alexander Bertovich. He was a graduate of Bentleyville High School and West Virginia University. Mr. Bertovich served during the Vietnam War as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Army and in the mid-1980s served with the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He was a member of American Legion Post 22 in Charleroi. He was employed by Beth Energy Mines and worked at mine No. 51 in Ellsworth, was a bus driver for 88 Transit and worked as a delivery driver for Bertovich Farm. Surviving are his children, Shane Bertovich, Timothy Bertovich, Cassandra Lawrence (Scott) and Lisa Beltz (David); five grandchildren; a brother, Frank Bertovich (Ruth); a sister, Cheryl Biscardi (Joe); and several nieces and nephews. Friends are welcome from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, at THOMPSON-MARODI FUNERAL HOME INC., 809 Main St., Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, followed at noon by a blessing service with the Reverend Michael A. Zavage officiating. A procession will follow to Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela, for a committal service.
