Kassandra “KC” Peters Bagiatis, 79, of Stockdale, passed peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023. She was born on Aug. 13, 1944, in Monessen, daughter of the late George and Margaret Marinos Peters. She graduated from Monessen High School in 1962. Upon graduating, she attended the Mercy School of Nursing. KC was a devoted steward of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church and the Philoptochos Ladies Society. She played an integral role in establishing the St. Spyridon Auxiliary in 1985 and served as director of the catering service for many years. KC devoted her time and talents to many festivals, bake sales and events at the church. In addition, she worked as a dietitian at Epiphany of Our Lord School and belonged to the Stockdale Firemen’s Ladies Auxiliary. During this time of her life, KC also battled cancer and became a two-time survivor of breast cancer. KC loved to cook, bake and entertain. She was a loving wife, mother, YiaYia, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She cherished her yearly beach vacations to Topsail, N.C. and Siesta Key, Fla., with her family and friends. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities, traveling and playing cards and dominoes with her card club friends. Her unconditional love and kindness were abundant to all whose lives she touched. KC is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Steve; her two sons, Stephen (Alicia) and Nicholas (Kristen); seven grandchildren, Sara, Hunter, Fisher, Taylor, Thais, Reid and Olivia; her brother, George M. (Paula) Peters; her sister, Joanne (Wayne) Hamel; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Danas Murphy. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. Services will be held beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, 1207 Grand Blvd., Monessen, with Father Meletios Gianniodis and Deacon Bill Leogas officiating. Those attending the funeral service are asked to arrive at St. Spyridon church at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. Trisagion service will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions can be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, 1207 Grand Blvd., Monessen, PA 15062.
