Alan Olszewski, 67, of Arnold City passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023. He was born Jan. 1, 1956, in Charleroi to the late Frank “Fink” and Elizabeth “Betty” Olszewski. Alan Olszewski was legendary for being the Ice Cream Man of Big Al’s Cool Ice Cream. Alan served in the United States Marine Corps, from which he was honorably discharged. Alan worked at Mon Valley Towing, where he was a deckhand. Alan had an eye for sports photography. A special thank you to Aubrey, Terry, Reagan, Crystal and the staff of Anova hospice care. He is survived by his wife of 34 wonderful years, Jodie. He was a proud father of their four children, Alan (Mandy) Olszewski Jr. of Greensburg, Aaron (Jessy) Olszewski of Belle Vernon, Sarah (Sean) O’Brien of Monongahela and Lambert Olszewski of Belle Vernon. He has had several proud and joyful moments in his life. The one that he was most proud of was being called a “Pap Pap” by three beautiful granddaughters, Cali and Paisley Olszewski and Maria O’Brien, who were his pride and joy. He was a brother to Charles “Chuckie” (Kathy) of Mount Pleasant; and brother-in-law to Kathy Olszewski Carmichaels. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Alan was preceded in death by his two brothers, Frank “Butch” and Edmond “Ed” Olszewski; and two grandchildren, Sean David and Jacqueline Carla O’Brien. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, at Eley/McCrory Funeral Home Inc., www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com.
