Washington County: GOP claims victory in commissioners’ race

Washington County will continue to be led by a Republican-majority board of commissioners as newcomer Electra Janis becomes the youngest commissioner in county history. With 100% of precincts reporting, incumbent commissioners Democrat Larry Maggi and Republican Nick Sherman have been reelected with 26% and 28% of the vote, respectively in unofficial results. Republican Electra Janis earned 23% of the vote and Democrat Cindy Fisher took home 22%.
