McKeesport teachers vote down contract

The McKeesport Area Education Association voted Thursday to reject the one-year contract approved by the school board at last week’s meeting, but the union hasn’t decided to strike and remains hopeful an agreement can be reached. McKeesport teachers have been working without a contract since Aug. 31. Last month, the union unanimously voted to authorize a teachers’ strike.
