Linda G. “Maggie” Widmer, 62, of Port Vue, formerly of Bunola, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Nov. 1, 2023. Born in New Eagle on March 28, 1961, she was the daughter of Carol Stewart Albright of Bunola and the late Gene “Whitey” Albright who passed away May 22, 2002. A graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School, Linda received her associate degree from CCAC as a health care coordinator. Linda always made an impact on her various jobs over the years: The Donut Connection, the Salvation Army Superstore, where she was the store manager, and she was a keyholder for Dollar General. She spent a few years as a firefighter for the Bunola VFD and was a member of the Bunola Civic Association for most of her life. Linda will be remembered for her love of Halloween and the ocean. We knew her as the queen of Halloween and she was such a fanatic for the show “The Walking Dead,” having a room in her house dedicated to memorabilia. In the summer, you could find her at her mother’s home in the swimming pool just about every day that she could. She always gave to others and had elaborate and unique ways of celebrating and giving gifts. In addition to her mother, Linda is survived by her husband, Leonard R. Widmer, who she married in 1995; a daughter, Christina Pauley (Mike) of New Eagle; son, Joe Pauley (Cristin) of Port Vue; two brothers, Will Albright and Walter (Brenda) Albright of Bunola; eight grandchildren, Allyson, Sasha, Mark, Joey, McKenna, Maison, Ben and Shelby; Shelby’s father, Todd; and a special grand-dog, Nicky. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her precious dog, Peaches. MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, is in charge of her arrangement.
