Beverly Balza Jones – Charleroi
Beverly Balza Jones, 92, of Charleroi passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, after a brief hospitalization. Beverly was born on May 25, 1931, in Charleroi, Pa., the daughter of the late Herman Balza and Mary Tihansky Balza. She graduated from Charleroi Area High School in 1949 and was subsequently employed at Corning Glass Works. At Corning, she met the love of her life, Ralph “Casey” Jones. After their marriage, they moved to Speers Hill, where they raised their two sons, Jeff and Barry. Casey passed away in 2002 with his devoted wife by his side. Beverly is also predeceased by her beloved brother, Richard in 1992. Beverly was an active member of Speers United Methodist Church for 66 years and volunteered with both the MonVale Auxiliary and Center in the Woods for 12 years. She willingly gave her time and talents in service to her family and community. Her faith in the Lord was unfailing, and she will certainly hear a voice from Heaven saying “With you, my daughter, I am well pleased.” Beverly was also a member of Riverside Place (Charleroi Senior Center), where she loved to play cards with her many friends. Beverly is survived by her son, Jeff and his wife Debbie of Southport, N.C.; her son, Barry and his wife Michelle of Brea, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Kelly, Kristi, Kaylee and Tyler. Yay!! Grandma … you have “fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith. Now there is in store (for you) the crown of righteousness, which the Lord will award.” Services will be held at Speers United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. Friends and family are welcome to attend a luncheon in the church social hall immediately following the service. Arrangements entrusted to CARL J.
