William L. Leis – West Newton

William L. Leis, 91, of West Newton, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023, in Jefferson Hospital. A son of the late Joseph and Cecelia Clark Leis, he was born on April 1, 1932. William was a resident of West Newton for 49 years before moving to Belle Vernon more recently. He had been employed by U.S. Steel, Clairton Works, for over 30 years prior to his retirement. William was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1952-54 in Korea. He was also a member of the Lions Club in Clairton. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn Herazo Leis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Sherman A. Rubino; and his siblings, Clark Leis, Jack Leis and Laverne Zollers Forbes. Burial will be in West Newton Cemetery.
