Crystal Ruffin, 39, of Monessen, passed away peacefully in her home, Sept. 30, 2023. She was born Dec. 6, 1983. Crystal was preceded in death by her uncle, Arnold Ruffin; grandmother, Mary Wilt; grandmother, Oliser Kinney and grandfather, Robert Kinney Sr. Crystal graduated from Homer Center in Homer City, Pa., in 2002, and attended Seton Hill University for two years. She was employed with Giant Eagle, but her number one job was being a loving mother and caregiver to her one and only daughter, Bry’Aunna Cook. She is survived by her fiancé, Brian Cook; and daughter, Bry’Aunna “Cookie” Cook of Monessen; mother, Marie A. Ruffin of Monessen; father, Robert “Bobby” Kinney Jr. of Greensburg; brothers, Robert Kinney III and Michael Whitfield of Monessen; sister, Tiera Hempfield and fiancé, Ryan Best of Pittsburgh; grandmother, Marie E. Ruffin of Melbourne; grandfather, Arnold C. Ruffin of Greensburg; aunt, Shelli W. Brugh and Eric Brugh of Melbourne; aunt, Dana Urban and Matthew Urban of Sebastian; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews that she loved deeply. Crystal was a loving mother with the most caring soul that will be deeply missed by all. Visitation from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, with chapel service at 2 p.m. at HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora. Pastor Arnold Ruffin of Atlanta, Ga., eulogist. Celebration of life has been gently placed in the hands of Karl Jackson, funeral director, 724-379-5420.
