By obits

Willard R. “Junior” Jones, 86, of Fayette City, passed away Monday, Oct. 2, 2023, at his home. Born June 16, 1937, in Fayette City, he was the son of the late Willard M. and Lavinia Jane Lindey Jones. A lifelong resident of Fayette City, Junior worked at Stephens Dairy Farm from a young age delivering milk and worked for 30 years at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel’s Allenport plant as a millwright. He was a master woodworker making pens, bowls, tables, stools and more and loved nothing more than giving away something he made to see their smile. He also enjoyed traveling everywhere with his family, making memories wherever they would go. He is survived by a daughter, Dianne Jones, with whom he made his home; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Christina Jones of Belle Vernon; three grandchildren, Michael Jones, Cheyenne Jones and Ryan Jones; and many brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda L. Nagy Jones; two brothers, Donald R. and Robert Jones; and sister, Eileen Godissart. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. A private family funeral service and interment will take place Friday at Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Willard R. Jones to the American Heart Association. Condolences are being accepted at the funeral home’s website, www.parzynskifuneralhome.com.
