Marlene M. LaForte, 80, of Monessen, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023, in Whitetail Springs Memory Care. She was born on Nov. 15, 1942, in Detroit, Mich., daughter of the late Julius and Mary Vitkovic Troth. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She worked for many years at Span Drugstore, Hills Department Store, Valley Nursery School and the Mon Valley YMCA. She is survived by her son, Jack B. LaForte of Monessen; daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Cicchini of Pittsburgh; brother, Julius Gary (Michele) Troth of Portage, Mich.; sister, Linda (Johannes) Rohjan of Beauford, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack T. LaForte; and sister, Bonnie Lynn McKita. Private funeral arrangements were entrusted to DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. Interment was in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Whitetail Spring Memory Care and to Commonwealth Hospice for all of their loving care while taking care of Marlene. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to The Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60601, www.alz.org.
