By obits

James Anthony Manack Sr., 91, of Perryopolis, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023. Born March 19, 1932, in Belle Vernon, he was the son of the late Steve and Helen Arva Manack. A resident of Perryopolis for the past 53 years, Mr. Manack was a member of St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, and was retired from the Municipal Authority of Belle Vernon. “Pap” as he was lovingly referred to, was a remarkable man who leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, unwavering generosity, boyish good looks and an exceptional sense of humor. To know him was to love him, to love him was easy and to live without him will be hard. However, for the ones he leaves behind, we take comfort in knowing he’s reunited with those who went before him, resting in the eternal and loving arms of God. He is survived by son, Mark Manack of Perryopolis; daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Randy Hutchinson of Frankfort, Ky.; 11 grandchildren, Nicole, Natalie, Carrie, Jessica, Jennifer, Mark, Colin, Megan, Charles, Brett and Brita; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Weaver of Belle Vernon; and sister-in-law, Loretta Manack of Belle Vernon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Malatin Manack; son, James Anthony Manack Jr.; daughter, Rebecca Gira; two brothers, John Manack and Joseph Manack; and two sisters, Helen Zolock and Catherine “Sissy” Matson. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jim`s life at the visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 191 Liberty St., Perryopolis, 724-736-2515. Prayers of transfer will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Rodolfo Mejia as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Perryopolis.
