David Leroy ‘Tatoo’ Scott – Donora

With trumpeting angels and God standing at the pearly gates, David Leroy “Tatoo” Scott earned his wings on Monday, Sept. 25, 2023, at his home. A loving husband, father, pappy, brother, uncle and dog-father, he was deeply loved, admired and respected by many where he was employed as a corrections officer at the Washington County Correctional Facility. He was a dear friend to his admiring inmates whom he always treated fairly. Born June 21, 1953, in Connellsville, he was the son of the late Herbert and Stella May Scott. A lifelong resident of Donora and graduate of the Ringgold High School’s Class of 1972, Dave was a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church of Donora, drove bus for the Ringgold School District and loved riding his customized motorcycle. He was an active member of the Blue Knights and enjoyed fishing and antiquing. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Macik Scott, to whom he was married 40 years; two sons and daughter-in-law, John Paul and Erin Reho of Ocean Pines, Md., David L. Scott II and wife, Dawn of Snow Hill, Md.; four grandchildren, Nevaeh Reho, Noah Reho, Nolan Scott, Monroe Scott; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Ron Aitken of Monongahela; numerous nieces and nephews; and his pet dogs, Mocha, Titan, Gizmo, Sailor and Mojo. He was preceded in death by his brother, Herald Scott. The family would wish to extend a special thank you to Dave’s niece Debbie Burkhardt for all of her loving care. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Panachida will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Donora, with the Rev. Stephen J. Wahal as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Michael Cemetery. May you rest in peace. Blessed repose and eternal memory until we meet again. Amen.
