Norman ‘Butch’ George – Finleyville

Norman “Butch” George, 84, of Finleyville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sept. 15, 2023, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. He was born Aug. 1, 1939, in Monongahela. He is survived by his wife, Lois Lees George; daughter, Jeri George Delattre and son-in-law Martin Delattre; granddaughter, Anna and Tom Dickey; great-grandchildren, Logan, Remi and Raegan Dickey; grandson, Ross DeLattre and Lena Coltogirone; son, Todd George and daughter-in-law Heather George; grandchildren, Tyler and Ella George and daughter, Kelli George; granddaughter, Brooke George; and great-granddaughters, Harlow and Fallon Goulding. He is survived by sister, Cheryl George Malone; sister, Elizabeth Gail George Walters; brother-in-law, Bruce Walters; sister-in-law, Nina Tustin; brother-in-law, Ervan Lees and sister-in-law, Anne Lees; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Blanche Jeannot George; sister, Barbara Lee George Garry; and brothers-in-law, James Garry, Gene Malone and Joe Tustin. Norm and Lois were married for 63 years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time “amongst the hills” at the cabin with family and friends. In his younger years, he spent time at the racetrack driving his car, the Ole Nag. He was employed for 44 years as a furniture refinisher with Finleyville Furniture/Ethan Allen and was a member of Teamsters No. 205. Arrangements have been entrusted to KEGEL FUNERAL HOME INC. in Finleyville. Private interment will be held in Finleyville Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Finleyville Volunteer Fire Department 3562 Washington Ave., Finleyville, PA 15332.
