David W. Karbowsky – Greentree, formerly of Smithton

David W. Karbowsky, 59, of Greentree, formerly of Smithton, passed away suddenly on Aug. 17, 2023. He was born on July 1, 1964, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late William and Pauline Behare Karbowsky. He was the husband of the late Gwen Brogan, who passed away on Aug. 11, 2023. He is survived by his stepchildren, Elijah and Emma Kajinic; sister, Diane Hoenshel (the late Jack “Robin” Hoenshel); godmother and aunt, Marlene Pritts; goddaughter, Natalie McCune; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was a 1982 Yough High School graduate and a 1986 Carnegie Mellon University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Info Systems and Ind. Management. David completed his MBA from Carnegie Mellon – Tepper School of Business in 1996. He was currently employed at PNC Bank, downtown Pittsburgh, as vice president, technology manager since 1997. David and Gwen loved to travel. They enjoyed hiking, biking, camping, kayaking and skiing together. David especially enjoyed scuba diving at many of their travel destinations. Las Vegas trips with his Pi Lambda Phi fraternity brothers were always a yearly occurrence. Services were held Aug. 19, 2023, with a private burial.
