BVA’s Dusi wins WPIAL championship

After receiving the No. 5 seed in the WPIAL Class 2A Singles Tennis bracket, Belle Vernon’s Gabby Dusi dominated the field and captured district gold Thursday in a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Beaver’s Chloe DeSanzo. Dusi claimed victories over Sewickley Academy’s Maria Sirianni, Greensburg Central Catholic’s Sasha Hoffman, and the No. 1 seed in Cecilia Gurgel from Winchester Thurston en route to the final.
