With White Oak Borough’s 75th anniversary celebrations continuing, borough officials and volunteers are excited to put on an Oktoberfest event the whole community can enjoy.
Oktoberfest will be held Sept. 29 at the White Oak Athletic Association, 1798 Lower Heckman Rd. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
Tickets for the event, priced at $30 for adults and $15 for children 12 and younger, must be purchased by this Friday.
Tickets are available at the White Oak Borough Building. For more information, call 412-672-9727.
Borough Parks and Recreation Committee chair and council member Julie Opferman is excited for the event after seeking ideas on unique ways to honor the borough while giving the community a fun night out.
“For the 75th anniversary, we were looking for something that families could participate in and something that would be really fun,” Opferman said. “My husband (Dan) is German, so he said, ‘why don’t we have an Oktoberfest’ and we ran with it.”
Opferman said they made sure to include many authentic details to make it a true Oktoberfest.
