Carmine Michael Fidanzato – Seminole, Fla.

By obits

Carmine Michael Fidanzato, 96, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 9, 2023, after a lengthy illness. His devotion to his family and his strong faith supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. Carmine passed away at his home in Seminole, Fla., surrounded by his loving family. Carmine, known as “Carmy” to his friends, was born on May 15, 1927, in Monongahela, son of the late Guiseppe and Assunta Fidanzato. He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Navy/Coast Guard. He worked as a regional manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company before retiring and moving to Florida in 1992. Anyone who knew Carmy knew how much he loved a good book and knew you could find him in front of the TV for any college or professional sporting event. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nita D’Andrea Fidanzato, in 1995; and a granddaughter, Nita Marie Fidanzato, in 1997. He was also predeceased by four brothers, Ralph, Mike, Pat and Joe Fidanzato; and one sister, Sese Lignelli. Left to cherish his memory are his four children: daughter, Marcia Boyd; son, Richard and daughter-in-law, Bernie Fidanzato, who he loved like his fifth child; daughter, Gina Carpenter, with whom he resided at the time of his death; and son, Daniel Fidanzato. Also surviving are his five grandchildren, Richard (Anne) Fidanzato, Toni Fidanzato, Jeff Boyd, Nicholas Carpenter and Andrea Moore; and five great-grandchildren, Marcus Girard, Riley Fidanzato, Liam and Giada Carpenter and Niko Moore. His sister, Ann Todora, also survives along with many nieces and nephews, including Carol Flament, who held a very special place in his heart. Funeral arrangements are being handled by FAUPEL FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, Port Richey, Fla. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Nov. 4, 2023, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, Donora campus. Interment will be at Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora, at a later date.
