John D. Uhutch, 84, of North Charleroi, passed away on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley. He was born in Van Voorhis on Sept. 27, 1938, son of John and Victoria Fiffick Uhutch. John was a United States Army veteran having served during peacetime. He worked as a self-employed carpenter throughout the Mon Valley. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, antiques and crossword puzzles. John is survived by his wife, Connie Young Uhutch; a brother, Edwin Uhutch of North Charleroi; a sister, Victoria Salaske of Charleroi; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023, at LEONARD M. PAVLIC FUNERAL HOMES INC., 235 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2023, with the Rev. Robert Hanna officiating, followed by entombment at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township. Military honors will be accorded by the United States Army Honor Guard. The celebration of John’s life will continue at River House Cafe immediately following the cemetery service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.pavlicfuneralhomes.com.
