Ralph James Losey Jr. – Florida, formerly of Monongahela

Ralph James Losey Jr., 72, of Miramar Beach, Fla., formerly of Monongahela, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, in his home. He was born March 29, 1951, in New Eagle, the son of Ralph Losey Sr. of Rostraver and the late Blanche Mellor Losey. A 1969 graduate of Monongahela High School, Ralph was recognized as one of the area’s finest rebounders and went on to play basketball for California State College. He graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. Immediately following graduation, he accepted a teaching position at Carroll Junior High School. He then transferred to South Park High School as a social studies teacher and basketball coach, where he remained for 10 years. Ralph was loved by his students, with the senior class of 1977 dedicating their yearbook to him as both a teacher and a friend. His final days in education were as an educational consultant with Step by Step Learning. He was also a respected businessman in the community as owner of Corner Brew Pop & Beer Warehouse in Bethel Park from 1982 to 2002. Currently residing in Miramar Beach, Ralph was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. Ralph loved his family, who adored him and will now gain strength through cherished memories. He was a true gentleman. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity and love for all that surrounded him. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Denise Pinchalk Losey, with whom he celebrated 44 years of marriage on April 21, 2023; two daughters and a son, Dawn McPherson and husband Samuel of Finleyville, Lance Losey of Schwenksville, and Danielle Ford and husband Matthew of Manly Beach, NSW, Australia; six grandchildren, Taylor (Bryan Lloyd) McPherson and Chase McPherson, Rebecca and Julia Losey, and Austin and Audrey Ford; brother, Mark Losey and wife Sue of Greensburg; and two sisters-in-law, Teri Abdala and husband Victor of Downington, and Toni Raymond of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2023, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 West Main St., Monongahela. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Monongahela. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, 200 Grand Blvd., #2054, Miramar Beach, FL 32550.
