Charlotte ‘Shawnee’ Ann Sassak – Monessen

Charlotte “Shawnee” Ann Sassak, 65, of Monessen, passed away on Monday, Sept. 11, 2023, at home with her loving family by her side. She was born on Aug. 14, 1958, in North Charleroi, daughter of the late Marco and Rebecca Hotchkiss Povich. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church and Monessen High School’s Class of 1976. She was an avid Pepsi drinker and collector. She worked at Nuzzaci’s Pizza shop in Monessen for many years. She is survived by her two sons, Leonard G. Sassak Jr. and Robert S. Sassak of Monessen; brother, Jack (Donna) Povich; sister, Brenda Povich; and her beloved dog, Jammer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Leonard G. Sassak Sr.; and two sisters, Deborah and Lisa Povich. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. with a blessing service in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Epiphany of Our Lord Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Name Cemetery, Monessen. Condolences are being accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com.
