It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Louis A. Ambrose, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished uncle and dear friend. Louis was born on March 3, 1938, in Courtney, Pa., to his parents, James and Mary Ambrose. On Sept. 5, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones, he embarked on his final journey. Louis lived a life filled with love, laughter and unwavering devotion to his family. He shared 63 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lorraine Ambrose, a testament to their enduring love and commitment. As a father, he leaves behind a legacy of love and guidance, survived by his sons, Mark Ambrose and wife Anita, James “Jay” Ambrose and wife Jennifer; and son-in-law Bryan Dunlop. His influence extended to his grandchildren, Curtis Ambrose, Ethan Ambrose, Jamie Ambrose, Brandon Dunlop, Eric Dunlop, Brent Dunlop, Chase Ambrose, Madison Ambrose and Brennan Ambrose; and one great-grandchild, Anthony Dunlop. Louis’s love for his family knew no bounds, and he took immense pride in watching each of them grow and thrive. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, James V. Ambrose and Mary R. Ambrose; and his daughter, Mary Beth Dunlop. He now rests in eternal peace, reunited with those who went before him. Throughout his life, Louis was a man of unwavering faith, a devout Christian who found solace in his beliefs. He was known for his straightforward nature, never shying away from expressing his thoughts and opinions. His voice was a beacon of wisdom and guidance to those who had the privilege of knowing him. Professionally, Louis served as a dedicated salesman for the Kings and the Youngmen’s Shop in Frederick, Md. His career was marked by hard work and a commitment to providing for his family, a value he held dear throughout his life. Louis Ambrose was a man who touched the hearts of many. His warm smile, hearty laughter, and genuine kindness endeared him to a multitude of friends and acquaintances. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, family and faith. A celebration of Louis’s life will be held to honor his memory at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, at Covenant Life Church in Hagerstown. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Covenant Life Church, 1515 Dual Hwy, Hagerstown, MD 21740, as an expression of love and remembrance. Louis A. Ambrose will forever be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, a cherished grandfather and a dear friend. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
