McKeesport mayor praises police response in long standoff with gunman

Following this week’s shooting and hostage situation in McKeesport, Mayor Michael Cherepko expressed appreciation for the city’s police force at Wednesday’s council meeting. The incident on the 1200 block of Pirl St. resulted in one woman suffering multiple gunshot wounds. Cherepko displayed gratitude to city police officers and the other agencies at the scene.
