Karen Ann Taylor, 83, of Allenport, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on Nov. 27, 1939, in North Charleroi, she is the daughter of the late Ralph Enos Nutt and Mary Leola Stover Nutt. A stay-at-home mom, she loved spending time with her husband, Tom, as well as her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Karen was a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star No. 205 in Donora. Karen is survived by her husband of 65 years, Thomas Taylor Jr.; daughter, Linda (John) Schaum; son, Thomas G. Taylor; two grandchildren, Justin Schaum and Adam (Valerie) Schaum; two great-grandchildren, Isaac Schaum and Jonah Schaum; a sister-in-law, Arlene Nutt; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Lois Matafka; and brothers, Ralph Kaye Nutt and James S. Nutt.  Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023. Interment will follow at Mon Valley Memorial Park, 49 Second St. Ext., Donora, PA 15033.
