BVA hires Glasspool as superintendent

Despite objections from many members of the audience, the Belle Vernon Area School Board voted 8-1 to hire Dr. Timothy Glasspool as the district’s new superintendent Monday night. Before and during the meeting, many district residents questioned Glasspool’s candidacy based on his time as superintendent of the Plum School District. A teacher-student sex scandal rocked the district with three teachers pleading guilty. Glasspool resigned in 2017 after accusing board members of acting hostile toward him.
