Lon R. Cooke, 76, of Donora, passed away suddenly Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, at his home in Donora. He was born July 2, 1947, in Uniontown, the son of the late Harold and Roseanne Cooke. Lon was veteran of the Vietnam War, having served as a corporal with the U.S. Marine Corps. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Louise (Fincik) Cooke; children, Lon Cooke III, Harold Cooke, Allen Cooke, Cecelia Geyer and Shelly Rabe; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Edward Zelenick, Jeffrey (Bobbie Jo) Zelenick, Kimberly (Ron) Struniak and Sylvia Zelenick; grandchildren, Tyler, Jennifer, Joshua and Zachary; great-grandson Cutler; and a sister, Sandra Cooke of Ohio. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900 where the family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023, with Deacon Al Poroda officiating. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora.
