Lorna M. Sethman – Carroll Township

Lorna M. Sethman, age 100, of Carroll Township, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023, at Jennie Personal Care Home in Smock, Pa. She was born July 31, 1923, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, daughter of the late John W. Chilzer and the late Edith Brubaugh Chilzer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Sethman; sons, John R. Sethman, William Sethman and William Sethman Jr., whom she and John raised as their own son after the passing of his mother at birth; two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a great-grandson; three daughters-in-law, Constance “Connie,” Jane and Melinda Sethman; a brother, John Chilzer; and four sisters, Elaine Thompson, Rhea Thompson, Theresa Blanda and Lorena Hawk. Surviving to cherish her memory are her two sons, Lawrence Sethman of Carroll Township and Gene (Marilyn) Sethman of Charleroi; a sister, Helen Riley of Florida; 11 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 34 great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023.
