John M. Barron – Belle Vernon

John M. Barron, 93, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, at Excela Health, Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Born April 17, 1930, in Monessen, he was the son of the late John and Anna Zeets Barron. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 67 years, Mr. Barron was a member of Seven Dolors Roman Catholic Church in Yukon, was a retired mason from U.S. Steel and LTV Steel and a member of Monessen VFW. He enjoyed his flower garden and building. John was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars and served in the U.S. Army for over 20 years. He is survived by his brother, Jerry J. Barron of Normalville, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia J. Gogol Barron, on Sept. 25, 2022; three brothers, Edward Barron, Robert Barron and Ronald Barron; and four sisters, Anna Badzik, Catherine Kachursky, Betty Marie Barron and Patricia Barron. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023, at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston of St. Sebastian R.C. Church officiating. Visitation will continue after the funeral services. Interment will take place in Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023. Condolences accepted at the funeral home’s website, www.parzynskifuneralhome.com.
