Gone, but never forgotten, Robert Irvin Ferree passed away on Aug. 24, 2023, at Presbyterian Hospital. He was born Nov. 6, 1963, in McKeesport Hospital to the late William August Ferree and Phyllis Elaine Laughner. “Bob” as he was affectionately called, brought a special joy and warmth to all who knew him with his bright smile and infectious laughter. He was a loving and caring soul. His love for his dogs, CoCo and King, was special. Bob loved to cook and was a clean freak. He paid attention to every detail of his home. He especially loved Evelyn “Champagne” King’s “Love Come Down” and his favorite TV show, “Law and Order.” His love for cooking was amazing but his special dishes were potato salad, ribs and black-eyed peas. Cookouts and family get-togethers for football games and boxing matches were right down his alley. Bob had a loving and devoted friend and companion, Arthur Rawls; and a sister, Louise Haas, whom he adored; and three other siblings, Norma, Dawn and Jimmy. He was the youngest of his siblings. A private memorial service will be held at his home at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to William R. Taylor Funeral Home, 645 McMahon Ave., Monessen, Pa., 724-684-4877.
