Jeanie Dowalo Misanik, 74, of Bethel Park, formerly of New Eagle, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Jeanie was born April 30, 1949, in Charleroi and was a daughter of the late John R. Sr. and Emily B. Stewart Dowalo. She was a 1967 graduate of the former Donora High School and was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela but was currently attending St. Thomas Moore Church in Bethel Park. Jeanie worked for many years as a pathology transcriptionist at Jefferson Hospital until her retirement and always enjoyed going to the Meadows and trips to Atlantic City with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Sichi of Peters Township; a brother, John Jr. and wife Margaret Dowalo of the state of California; two grandchildren, Sasha Misanik and her partner in crime, Sabastian Buchak; four sisters-in-law, Linda Misanik, Joyce and husband Rick Allen, Joanne Misanik and Janet and husband James Bath, all of New Eagle; and her good friend, Fran Emery of Donora. Jeanie was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Misanik, who died Nov. 29, 2015; two daughters, Christine Misanik, who died Oct. 23, 2013, and Holly Buchak, who died July 5, 2014; and a son, Joseph G. Misanik, who died April 1, 2023. Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2023, at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday with Deacon Al Poroda officiating.
