Brentt Jones – Monessen
On Aug. 7, 2023, Brentt Jones, 39, slipped away from his family and friends. He will always be fondly remembered as a football star, running back and linebacker, #32 for the Monessen Greyhounds. He graduated from Monessen High School, Class of 2002. He was an all-around sportsman and loved hanging out with his brothers. Brentt is survived by his mother, Beverly Edwards-Byrd, and father, Anzalone “Zek” Jones; brothers, Brad Jones, Christopher Byrd, Christian Byrd and Jamar Byrd; sisters, Ashley Byrd-Bobin and Bella Byrd; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends; along with a special friend, Brianna Bergstedt. Brentt will be sadly missed. Viewing will take place from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 230 Reed Ave., Monessen, with a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023, with Bishop Karl Jackson, pastor, officiating.
