Two rock bands from different generations with Belle Vernon origins, headliner Gene the Werewolf and opener Broom, will play at the Monongahela Aquatorium this Saturday evening.
“It’s gonna be a big Belle Vernon night in Monongahela,” said Jon Belan, the Gene the Werewolf lead.
This show comes toward the middle of the venue’s “Rockin’ on the Mon” summer concert series. Admission is $10 per person and doors open at 6 p.m.
Gene the Werewolf, a band around for about 15 years, comprises members Belan, who sings and plays guitar, Nick Revak on drums, Drew Donegan on guitar, Andy Marks on guitar, Aaron Mediate on keyboard and Chris Serafini on bass.
During the planning process for the summer concert series, organizers already had Gene the Werewolf picked as one of the headliners and Broom as one of the openers.
Broom, a group of five young men, wanted to open for Gene the Werewolf because the band members are fans and like that the two bands play similar music and are from the same towns.
