Mallory Daly finished off her career in the Mon Valley Independent Summer Basketball League by capturing her share of hardware.
The Seton LaSalle rising senior helped lead AMD Industries to its third girls division championship in team history by scoring a game-high 26 points in a 65-48 win over Edward Jones Wednesday night.
That performance came days after the University of Buffalo commit was named the Melanie Greco Player of the Year. She led the girls division in scoring during the regular season, as she averaged 22.4 points per game through eight games. She totaled 179 points on the year.
“I don’t feel like anyone can imitate me,” Daly said during Wednesday’s award ceremony at Marx’s Court Time Sports Center in Elizabeth Township. “I don’t worry about anyone, I just worry about myself and how I play.”
Daly became the third AMD player in MVISBL history to earn player of the year honors.
Kaylin Venick won the award in 2020 before Eden Williamson claimed the honor last summer.
“She has seen other leaders on this team come before her and she has stepped into that leadership role tremendously,” AMD head coach Bria Rathway said. “A lot of these girls, not just on her team but in the league, look up to her. She comes out and performs every night. She’s always tenacious, her defense never takes a night off and she always gives it her all.”
