Maria ‘Marie’ Tuttle – Monongahela

By obits

Our beloved Maria “Marie” Tuttle went home to heaven to be with our Lord and Savior on July 22, 2023. She passed away at the Cambridge Creek-side Memory Care Home in Charleroi. Born March 3, 1947, in Austria, Marie was the daughter of the late William and Rosali Szabo Chuka. With her parents, she immigrated from Hungary to Monongahela in 1951, when she was only 4 years old. A 1964 graduate of Monongahela High School, she was a member of Journey by Grace Church in Belle Vernon, where she was a member of their praise and worship team and was an active part of its children’s ministries. She devoted many years to helping raise her three precious granddaughters by taking them to school, dance, Pine Cove Beach Club, youth group activities and everything in between. As they grew older, they enjoyed watching Hallmark movies together. Marie would take her granddaughters to retirement homes to show off their piano playing skills during the holidays and was known to most as “Mimi,” but her nieces and nephews called her “Aunt Fizzy.” She was a faithful, selfless woman who always put the needs of others before her own. She had a positive outlook on life and had her incredible wit until the end. She was our sunshine. Her life was a blessing, and memories of her will be treasured forever. Marie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gary Lee Tuttle, whom she married on Aug. 21, 1964; her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly Ann (Gary) Krivijanski of New Eagle; one sister, Emma Eichenseher and her family of Germany; and three granddaughters whom she loved dearly, Kelsye Marie, Kylee Jo and Kenzye Shea. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023, with a celebration of life service starting at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, 2023, at Journey by Grace, 4803 Rt. 51, Belle Vernon, PA 15102, with Pastor Bill Bailey and Pastor John Pipp co-officiating. EVERYONE IS ASKED TO GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH on Monday. Those unable to attend the funeral service can livestream it online at Youtube.com (search journeybygrace). Condolences can be made online at marshallmarrafuneralhome.com.
