Kenneth Lee Kibler – Fallowfield Township

By obits

Kenneth Lee Kibler, 67, of Fallowfield Township, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023, at Shadyside Hospital after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Ken was born to Norma “June” and Donald Kibler (deceased), also of Fallowfield Township. Ken was a 1973 graduate of Charleroi High School and attended Mon Valley Tech for welding. Ken worked in the Oilwell Tubing Mill in Allenport for many years. Ken then worked for his father, Don, at Don Kibler’s Auto Service on Park Avenue in Monongahela, where he stepped in and ran the business after his father’s passing in 1996. Ken retired from his business in 2018. Most recently, he worked at Dierken’s pharmacy in Monongahela, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of the Dierken’s team. Ken’s biggest life accomplishment was meeting and falling in love with his wife, Pamela Jo Robbins of Speers. They married in 1981, celebrating 42 years of marriage this past May. Ken and Pam were blessed with two children, Kenneth Jr. and Kelly. Ken had many interests and hobbies that kept him busy. He loved to cook for his family, always making their favorites and experimenting with new recipes. He did some of his best work by smoking and grilling meat on the barbecue. This was often a family get together favorite along with giving his grandsons a tractor ride. Ken was an avid reader. He always had a book with him if he was going anywhere and would not waste time sitting idle but would read constantly. Some days you could see him sitting on his front porch reading John Grisham novels. He frequented the Charleroi Library to see what treasures he could find. Ken is survived by his wife, Pam Kibler; his son, Kenneth L Kibler Jr.; daughter Kelly Brown (Eric); and grandson, Alexander and Barrett Brown, all Fallowfield Township residents. Ken is survived by his mother, Norma “June” Kibler; and sisters, Susan Grecco of Fallowfield Township and Leslie Petruzzelli (Guy) of Peoria, Ill. Ken was preceded in death by his father, Donald E Kibler; and his granddaughter, Kaycee Lee. Friends and family will be received at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME at 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023. Funeral services will be held at Hogan-Melenyzer Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2023, with interment following service at Maple Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Ken’s memory to Charleroi Public Library, 638 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. Envelopes for donations will be available inside the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.hogan-melenyzer.com.
