D.T. State Farm wins to clinch playoff berth

Everything was on the line for both Dax Thomas State Farm and Lee Supply in the regular-season finale of the MVI Summer Basketball League Girls Division Wednesday.
It was a simple formula for both squads, win and you’re in the playoffs.
DT State Farm was led by a trifecta of double-digit scorers and used a stout defensive effort in the second half to pull away from Lee Supply, 64-57, and claim the final postseason spot.
“It was really simple for us,” Dan Slain said. “We just had to win, and that was it. I thought the girls were focused and they were locked in. This team finished in last place last season, and these girls were hungry to get back into the playoffs.”
