Robert ‘Bob’ W. Wachs – Sutersville

By obits

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robert “Bob” W. Wachs of Sutersville, a loving husband, dedicated father and grandfather and a true lover of nature. Robert departed this world on July 22, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, cherished memories and an adoring family who will forever remember his adventurous spirit and warm heart. Robert was born on March 22, 1950, to the late Joseph and Virginia McIndoe Wachs. From a young age, he displayed an unyielding passion for the outdoors and a relentless work ethic. Whether it was camping, cross-country skiing or riding motorcycles, Robert found solace and joy in every facet of the natural world. He was an explorer at heart, always looking for heart symbols, and he loved sharing it with his devoted wife of nearly 55 years, Georgeann Vinsick Wachs. Together, they raised two sons, Robert (Jennifer) Wachs and Lonnie Wachs. Robert found great pleasure spending time with his grandchildren, Tyler (Emily Barton), Dylan (Savannah Swanson) and Maddelyn; and great-grandson, River. He showered them with unconditional love and support. He was a pillar of strength for his family, always putting their needs above his own. Robert was a man of exceptional character and work ethic. He was a skilled and accomplished equipment operator who could “move the earth” like no other. Per his wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Church in West Newton, where family and friends can gather to celebrate the remarkable life he lived. Inurnment will be in West Newton Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to J. WILLIAM MCCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME, West Newton. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Robert’s name to: Fur All Kittys, 1824 Homeville Road, West Mifflin, PA 15122, as his cats were a cause close to his heart. Although Bob left this world too soon, we find comfort in knowing that he lived a life filled with love and joy and left a legacy of unforgettable memories. Condolences may be left at www.mccauleyfuneralhome.com.
