Mon Valley veterans and first responders will be honored once again in Monongahela with a patriotic musical tribute.
Warriors Rock, featuring Gary Racan and the Studio-E Band will return to the Monongahela Aquatorium for a concert Sunday. Gates open at 3 p.m. and the concert starts at 4 p.m.
Tickets, which can be purchased at the gate, are $10 per person. Veterans and children 6 and younger are admitted free. Proceeds benefit local Mon Valley veterans service organizations.
Event organizer, retired Brig. Gen. David Papak, hopes the inspirational event becomes an annual tradition.
“I just want to encourage everyone to continue to talk about this,” Papak said. “If you can take a minute to envision it — say in 10 years, we could be honoring 100 veterans, and say 50 first responders. We can show children through that what it means to be a veteran.”
